Amal Perera

Research Assistant

I am Nirmani Edirisinghe. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Floriculture and Landscape Architecture at the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Fisheries at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya. I am a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Peradeniya, contributing to a project titled “Developing Food Loss Reduction Pathways through Smart Business Practices in Mango and Tomato Value Chains in Pakistan and Sri Lanka,” project funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research. My primary research focus is on reducing food loss in the mango value chain. My research interests include sustainable agriculture and post-harvest technology. I am particularly passionate about exploring innovative methods to minimize food loss and waste, thereby improving food security and sustainability in agricultural practices. I aspire to continue my research in the field of agricultural sustainability, with a focus on developing and implementing practical solutions for food loss reduction. I aim to contribute to global efforts in enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability through research and education.
